This Privacy Policy explains how Knapp Business Solutions, also known as Tax.pro ("KBS," "we," "us"), through its Accuria client platform at accuria.app, collects, uses, and protects the information of the businesses and individuals ("clients," "you") we serve.

Information we collect

Account & contact information you provide, such as your name, business name, email address, and — if you opt in to text notifications — your mobile phone number.
Bookkeeping and financial information you or your connected accounts share with us so we can perform bookkeeping, payroll, and related services.
Usage information needed to operate and secure the Client Center (for example, sign-in activity).

How we use your information

To provide bookkeeping, payroll, tax-support, and billing services.
To operate your Client Center and communicate with you about your account — including, if you opt in, sending SMS notifications when there is activity that needs your attention.
To meet our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations.

SMS / text messaging

Mobile phone numbers are collected only when you affirmatively opt in inside your authenticated Client Center. We use your number solely to send you account-related notifications (such as a new message from your advisor, a question about a transaction, or a balance reminder). You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or by turning texts off in your Client Center.

We do not sell or share your information for marketing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties or affiliates.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to provide our services — for example, with service providers who process payments (Stripe), deliver messages (Twilio), or connect your financial accounts (Plaid) — and only to the extent required to perform those functions on our behalf. We may also disclose information when required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Data security & retention

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information and retain it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.

Cookies & similar technologies

Accuria uses only the cookies it needs to run. We do not use advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.

Essential sign-in cookies. When you log in, we set a first-party session cookie so the platform can keep you securely signed in and protect your account against cross-site request forgery. Your activity is stored on our servers; the cookie itself holds only a session identifier.
Payment-security cookies. On billing and payment pages, our payment processor (Stripe) may set cookies it uses to detect and prevent fraud while processing a payment.

Because these cookies are strictly necessary to operate the Client Center, we do not show a cookie-consent banner. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but signing in to Accuria will not work without the essential session cookie.
